It is really astounding to watch all of the extreme right-wing anti mask/lockdown crowd cling to the Charter in desperation.

I can’t speak for other jurisdictions, but a lot of the anti-mask protestors in Vancouver are not notably right-wing. It seems to be a fair contingent of the same sorts of conspiracy and other loons who populated the Occupy protests a few years ago, and those folks were very far from right wing.

A significant contingent of the lockdown protestors (and anti-vaxxers) are fundamentally “anti-corporate” in their outlook, especially as regards Big Pharma. Just look at some of the signs they carry. That’s hardly a classic right-wing position.

I agree their are lots of right-leaning loons, but in my hood it’s a mixed lot.

Our office nutcase is still refusing to get vaccinated. That will be too bad if she gets COVID-19, especially if she spreads it around and kills someone else in the office or members of her own family. Apparently, those points are not relevant. The rest of the office is now AZ vaccinated.

My unionized workplace is right on the edge of a civil disobedience style work refusal / going on Emergency Leave as a group. We’re a non essential government service and we can’t believe Ford didn’t just arbitrarily shut us down on Friday.

I work in non-essential retail. I quite like my employer but is it essential that I (& my coworkers) be there each day to hand people martini glasses & cookie sheets at the door? Ford is sacrificing peoples’ health on the altar of the economy and will lose the next election.
