  1. Warren,

Don’t worry, they aren’t bullshitting you. You have a great broadcaster’s voice! Take it from a guy who was a radio news reader in NB in my early twenties.

  2. The bipartisan agreement is for lack of other words, mere baby steps. But it gives me hope for the future.

I lost hope when Clinton’s Assault Weapons Ban got sunsetted but in my book, even a 16th of a loaf is far better than zip.

  3. I don’t know about you but I haven’t heard a single whiff of the Wynne playbook being put into place in this leadership race: translation, with a deal with Brown but none with Leslyn AND Scott, then the second ballot is almost a foregone conclusion: Poilièvre wins. But the fun part will be when he goes into the general with the likes of dear Jenni and they get thoroughly blown right out of the water à la Scheer or O’Toole.

  4. Putin = unabashed sociopath. Need I say more?

  5. Austria
    Czechoslovakia
    Poland

That was last time. This time will be even more predictable. So get ready for the eventual obvious.

I know I know I KNOW it’s from YouTube, but this guy is among the most clear-eyed analysts of the Russian invasion I’ve come across, and to the detriment of my sleep I’ve been glued to this 24/7 since mid-Feb. He’s proving quite prescient. https://youtu.be/aEpk_yGjn0E

Sorry to hear the Illustrious Exalted Dear Leader has caught COVID for the second time in what, five months?

    He should get danger pay.

But, it’s comforting to know he can quarantine at his Harrington Lake Dacha, enjoying the fine meals prepared in his $735,000 kitchen.

    • Peter,

Quite obviously, I’m much smarter than him. I’m still wearing my mask as Wave Eight envelopes the United States and makes headway here in Quebec. That probably explains why he has COVID once again and I don’t and haven’t had it. Elementary, my dear Watson.

    • Peter Williams says:

I’m hoping a speedy recovery for His Illustriousness, so he can use one of the eight boats he bought for use at the Lake.

Once He’s recovered, perhaps Rosie Barton can do a special report on the lakeside kitchen, describing all the wonderful appliances a modern world leader needs.

Including telling us if He’s got an electric juicer for oranges and maybe a separate one for real lemonade.

      • Peter,

These points are perfectly valid, if not tired but most voters don’t give a shit, even if they should. Watch the GGs expenses re: the trip to the Middle East. They should be denounced by the PM and Rideau Hall’s budgetary envelope should be cut in light of these expenses but this is Ottawa so nothing will happen to her either. Christ, they weren’t even going to move against Payette and only did when the pot finally came to a roaring boil and THEN boiled over. Otherwise, she’d still be GG.

          Ronald

To date, most people have either been relatively well off, or able to adequately cope given government support payments.

But now with serious levels of inflation, many people will suffer a noticeable reduction in their standard of living.

When they look around, and see Trudeau, the GG, the cabinet, all living high on the hog (whilst Trudeau and his clique tell people we must make do with less), things may change.

Remember what Bill Clinton’s advisor told Clinton, “It’s the economy stupid!”

    • Peter Williams says:

Contrast Justin’s promised timing for ending First Nations’ water advisories with the timing of Justin’s Harrington Lake $735k kitchen renovations.
