Ten years

  1. Warren,

Clinton should never have agreed to language in the Assault Weapons Ban bill that provided for the law to lapse over time. That was the beginning of the end.

  2. Merrill Smith says:

Wasn’t that obvious 10 years ago? And hasn’t it been reinforced many time since? Reasons I’m happy to never cross the border even though there is much worth seeing and doing down there.

  3. Pipes says:

Well from my perch, which is nestled with some ignorance and some stupidity, I think America will never quench their thirst for war and murder. They find peace unsettling. They need to feed their addiction for blood with violence and it doesn’t matter who the dead are. No one is safe in that Country of Lincoln, freedom, opportunity, possibility and the Chicago Bears.

It needs Devine leadership and cant solve their desire for death without it. I would like to be more optimistic but they are too far gone to be saved by a mere mortal.

    Go Bears!

Completely agree. Anyone who supported the NRA and other similar advocacy groups after Sandy Hook should forever hang their head in shame.

  5. Ron Benn says:

Some people believe that their 2nd amendment right to bear arms overrides the constitutional right of all to LIFE and liberty. That this mindset is a fundamental part of the American culture is truly sad. Sigh.

  6. EsterHazyWasALoser says:

There seems to be a constituency in the US of A that just doesn’t care. I’m sure they are repulsed by what happened at Sandy Hook, but are not going to have their right to acquire firearms infringed.

    • Andy Kaut says:

That’s because they value their freedoms over those kids’ lives. And if that’s the metric you use, no amount of fodder on the credit side will tip the scales. The 2A is a civic religion stateside, and she demands fealty in the face of innumerable dead kids.

You’ll not stop a zealot but one way, and I daresay that’s the goal of some of these militias- why would they pause to protect a culture and country they don’t believe in?

No, Virginia. There’s only one way through it. Sooner of later, somebody’s gonna have to stop the music. And not skip the record, either. I don’t know what it takes to shout through the din anymore.

Maybe another Angry Orange Man run?
