I’d like to get rid of the notwithstanding clause – too easy for radicals to usurp the rights of minorities. And, the supreme court is the final straw when governments overstep their authority. Keep it that way. Look at Danielle smith about to use the notwithstanding clause to supersede good medical advice, and charter rights for trans kids – how cruel. Saskatchewan too with Moe.

The world, like I’ve warned in previous posts, is being overtaken by fascists. They’re back, and we can see their cooky bullshit at the provincial level – it’s all hands on deck to beat back fascism lest we fall victim to their bullshit. They only respond to power – the teachers in Alberta have a powerful union. They’ve been offered a 12 percent raise due to said union. Nurses get a raise, doctors too – and tax breaks for big business. They’re all powerful lobbies. Now look at the most vulnerable citizens in Alberta – they aren’t organized, and they aren’t powerful – they’re certainly a minority group. The disabled community – the province is withholding a $200 federal benefit, they’re raising rent $200, and they’re cutting the benefit (AISH) by $200. That’s a six hundred dollar rip off from the weakest and most vulnerable people in the province. Even disabled people who work are being targeted, with a benefit claw back at $350 in earnings, preventing the disabled community from even working their way out of poverty – they go after minorities, disabled – people who have less power are targeted. They’ve also cut off covid vaccines, and the flu shot!!!!! Look at the brutally ignorant and stupid actions of a government that more closely resembles the MAGA crowd than any other in Canada. Maple syrup MAGA please do something to better yourselves so we don’t have to suffer your bullshit!!

In this country we get the government we deserve. Well, in AB, this is just a small start to what they deserve. I think she’s going to lose the next election. The NDP has a very strong leader and they’re offending too many right of centre pc’s who aren’t entirely on board with her wildrose shit show – lets just hope for the best. It would be easier to dethrone them if the NDP would change their name to attract centre and centre right voters – smith only appeals to radicals in her party –

To me this is big picture stuff: sure, Kimmel had no clue as to the alleged shooter’s identity when he made his opening statement. But who cares either way? It’s kind of inside baseball and relatively meaningless. Point being that the whole thing is part of the Trump grand orchestration to deep-six anyone who opposes him or his deeds, whether the guy’s name is Kimmel, Colbert, or anything else. Trump, the dictator with seemingly absolute power at work. Shame on Congress, the SCOTUS, and most of all, media conglomerates who don’t want their deals blocked.
