I’m going to be reading from and/or talking about Fight the Right at a meet the candidates thing in my home riding of Beaches-East York tonight at about 8 pm. We’ll be gathering at the St. Louis Bar and Grill (1963 Queen Street East) for grub, grog and a gab about what Grits need to win.

If you go, you’ll get to meet some of the local Liberals who have put their names forward to help run the riding. They’re up for election at the AGM on December 9 and they need your vote. C’mon by to meet them!

The last four postings, I note, are about the news media, and how they sometimes bewilder me. I’m sure I bewilder folks, too, but I don’t charge anyone for “news” or “opinion.”

My friends Clay Ruby and Paul Magder have already agreed to the stay.  So why is today’s hearing in any way news?

(Swear to God, some days, I think I am totally missing things.  Is there a reason why dozens of reporters and camerafolks are crammed in a courtroom this morning, tweeting and reporting on something whose outcome is already known?)

Why was it written?  Why is it being headlined, anywhere? Why are Opposition MPs compelled to comment? Why should anyone care, when this guy hasn’t been near cabinet for years?
