It’s also something that you may be hearing a lot about tomorrow – as rumours persist that Stephen Harper will be in town to stump for Tim Hudak. Why is that significant? Well, go back to August 2, 2011: on that day, Harper calls for a “hat trick” – that is, for the same Conservative cabal to run the country, the GTA and Ontario.

Wow. Never thought I’d see something like this.

The Sun chain refuses to endorse Tim Hudak – they actually liken him to a cartoonish Mr. Bean – and say that, while they wanted to endorse him, they just couldn’t bring themselves to do it. He’s been a failure, they say.

This pamphlet is being circulated, tonight, in Brampton ridings.  As you can see at the bottom, it is expressly authorized by “the C.F.O. of the Ontario P.C. Party.”

Along with being hateful, the PC ad is completely false.  It is wrong.  It is B.S. The true facts are found here.

For a party that started the campaign attacking “foreign” workers, and is now ending it attacking “foreign” students, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.  But it’s pretty disgusting, nonetheless.  And it’s yet another reason why the Hudak PCs blew a near-20-point lead, I’d say.

In a newsletter to clients, Cooper warned the Harper government it was literally in danger of repeating the deflationary policies that caused the 1929 stock market crash and the Great Depression.

She went on to say that the fiscal tightening promised by Harper and Flaherty could, in fact, lead to an economic “rout.”

If those chilling words don’t give investors, job hunters — and voters in P.E.I., Manitoba and Ontario — cause for reflection, nothing will. The decisions we make now will determine our economic future in the months and years ahead. And if we make the wrong decision — as Depression-era President Herbert Hoover did, Cooper noted, with rash fiscal belt-tightening — we could be plunged into another recession, or worse.

We have a choice here, and it’s an important one.

Jim Flaherty popped down to Toronto to heap praise of Tobacco Tim Hudak, this afternoon.

By endorsing him, Flaherty’s just kicked-started the “hat trick” story again.
