Why won’t the Toronto Star report that it now regularly receives hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Liberal government it covers? That is a pretty relevant fact.

Their readers deserve to know it – because, speaking purely personally, I’d say it has sure had an impact.

Liberals: $5,033,998.49 (YTD $8,891,161.49)
Greens: $1,437,722.71 (YTD $2,221,001.46)
NDP: $1,226,868.92 (YTD $2,660,343.07)

You read that right: the official Opposition has doubled the take of the governing party.  And the Greens had a better quarter than the NDP.

I am in the Yukon but was shocked to hear about the passing last night of my friend David Caplan. He was a genial, thoughtful man, and a great minister. My deepest condolences to his family, who are equally amazing people.
