The only question about Trump

Will they be able to impeach before he starts wars in Syria, Afghanistan and North Korea?

That’s the only question.

The official investigation into relations between Donald Trump and Russia now has “specific, concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion”, it has been reported.

New evidence proves discussions took place “between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material,” a source allegedly told the Guardian.

The developments come as it has emerged that Britain’s spy agencies were among the first to alert their American counterparts to contact between members of Mr Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives.

A Trump-Russia bombshell must have been coming

…so he made another kind of bombshell, to distract. MOAB: Mislead, Obstruct, Antagonize, Baffle.

CNN:

Washington – The US military has dropped an enormous bomb in Afghanistan, according to four US military officials with direct knowledge of the mission.

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” was dropped at 7:32 pm local time Thursday, the sources said. A MOAB is a 21,600-pound, GPS-guided munition that is America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb.

The bomb was dropped by an MC-130 aircraft, stationed in Afghanistan and operated by Air Force Special Operations Command, Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump told CNN.

Officials said the target was an ISIS cave and tunnel complex and personnel in the Achin district of the Nangarhar province.

Oh, and look at this report. What a coincidence.

Indictments imminent? Drop a MOAB.

One source suggested the official [FBI] investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”

Opposing hate: an invitation

Got an email and a letter:

For the uninitiated, Your Ward News is a neo-Nazi rag a few of us have been fighting for many months. Details here and here and here.

The invitation, above, is to participate in a quasi-judicial investigation into Minister Judy Foote’s right and proper decision to tell Canada Post to stop delivering a hate sheet that denies the Holocaust and refers to minorities as “parasites” and regularly calls blacks the “N” word. It’s going to be important.

Should neo-Naziism be delivered to your mailbox? Where did these white supremacists and Hitler freaks get the money to publish – and, also, hire one of Canada’s priciest, slickest criminal lawyers to represent them? Why is a political leader saying “no, an agent of the Crown shouldn’t facilitate the dissemination of hate” even an issue?

All good questions. I’ve been involved in opposing organized hate groups for decades. So too the good folks at my firm, Daisy.  This battle will be one for the history books, I think, and it is about to get underway.

Stay tuned.

This is how you do crisis comms, United Airlines (updated)

From the York Region District School Board trustees, facing a bit of a challenge of their own.

  • Be proactive
  • Be clear
  • No jargon
  • Take responsibility
  • Say what you are going to do to fix the problem…
  • Then fix it

Link here.  Impressed.

UPDATE: Being proactive and taking full responsibility is working for them, looks like.  Just saw the Minister of Education on TV, saying: “I am very pleased to see that trustees are moving forward and wanting to take action in a positive direction. They understand the urgent need to restore the confidence in the York Region  School Board.”
